Fresco’s Fish and Chips

April 27, 2016Dr. Andre HughesToronto

seafoodWith springtime finally here, plenty of people in Toronto, ON are going to be itching to get outside and enjoy the weather change that is about to hit us. One way that Invisalign provider Dr. Andre Hughes and the rest of the staff here at Christie Park Dental like to celebrate spring is by going somewhere and having a nice meal with their family and friends.

In the spirit of spring, we figured we would take a momentary break from our normally dental themed articles and tell you a little about our favorite place to get a good meal with loved ones right here in town.

For us, there is nothing that speaks spring like fresh seafood. Bearing that in mind let’s take a closer look at Fresco’s.

Fresh Seafood and Springtime Smiles at Fresco’s

One thing that we all really like doing here at the office is finding small, locally owned businesses and supporting them with our patronage. When a small company is able to hold its own in a professional world that’s seemingly dominated by big conglomerate giants we find this quite admirable. On top of this, the products you receive from small businesses are often times made with more passion and better quality than products from large chains. All of this is especially true when it comes to places that sell or serve food and Fresco’s is the perfect example.

“Our goal is to serve the best fish and chips: good for you, good for the environment and really, really good to eat. The absolute best. Before opening the restaurant, we personally tested everything. We tested 300 pounds of potatoes before deciding on the fresh Ontario grown Russet potatoes we use. Our chips are freshly cut daily. We inspect each potato individually before cutting them and rinse the cut potatoes three times before we blanch them, assuring the best quality and best-tasting fries you will ever have.

We love our fish, so we use a light batter which compliments the fish without overpowering it. Our traditional batter is done the old fashioned way using a wheat flour and yellow corn flour.

We love our customers, so we make our coleslaw by hand with fresh Ontario grown veggies and a delicious creamy dressing.

We love our planet, so we use all biodegradable takeout cutlery and packaging. We recycle in the restaurant and encourage the same at home.” –frescosfishandchips.com
